BEST FRIEND FILMS was formed for the sole purpose of shooting movies that are more palatable to a larger audience than a lot of movies shot in Hollywood today. In James Best’s opinion “It’s a shame that Hollywood cannot find, nor will seek out family oriented scripts that the movie going public is so hungry for. It seems that most of the movies being produced these days are just rehashed sequels of older films. The only thing added is more and more violence, sex and four letter words. The old formula of moviemaking was obtaining a good script, casting trained talent, and relying on professional performances to satisfy a very large movie going audience".
BEST FRIEND FILMS was formed by James and Dorothy Best for the sole purpose of making movies that could be enjoyed by the forgotten audience that no longer, or seldom go to movies as they did in the past. In 2002 Kevin Lang joined as a partner, and BEST FRIEND FILMS became a company on the cutting edge of HD digital production. Being one of the first Production Companies in the Southeast to have the Panasonic Varicam - and then addiing the Pro 35 lense adapter to be able to use Panavision film lenses.
In 2007 Ken & Sharon Smith joined the team as partners, and again BEST FRIEND FILMS is on the cutting edge as it just received two RED ONE cameras with lense packages. We seek the very best scripts, the very best professional actors, and use cutting edge equipment to make our movies.
BEST FRIEND FILMS has a six-year record of turning out very high quality movies, commercials, and documentaries. We are looking forward to doing more of the same.
